Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains what information may reach Screven County Busted Mugshots, how it is used, and what can happen after a visitor follows a link or submits a search through an outside provider. Using the service means accepting the practices described here. Government offices linked from the pages have their own policies.

Information Sent Directly

Search queries

A name, place, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The service does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may handle the query under its own terms and privacy notice.

Messages and contact requests

If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the message and the contact details supplied with it may be kept so a reply can be made and the conversation can be managed. Those details are not shared outside the organization unless a legal duty requires disclosure or a service provider needs them to deliver the message.

Technical Details and Cookies

Ordinary page requests can generate technical information. Depending on the host, analytics service, and browser, the service may receive:

  • IP address or a shortened form of it;
  • browser name and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • pages visited and time spent;
  • referring page, when supplied;
  • request timestamps and related technical logs.

Cookies and similar tools

Cookies may help measure how visitors use the pages, remember a setting, or support a feature. Browser controls can block or delete cookies. Some functions may behave differently when they are blocked. Analytics and advertising partners can place or read their own technologies under their policies.

How Information Is Used

Collected information may be used to operate and secure the pages, route a search request to the proper partner, understand which sections are useful, find technical faults, respond to a message, and show advertising that may reflect visitor interests. It is not used to create an official Screven County record or to decide a person’s custody status.

Links to Other Services

The pages link to the Sheriff’s Office, municipal police departments, courts, the Georgia Department of Corrections, federal locators, news publishers, archives, and outside search tools. Once a visitor leaves this service, the linked organization’s privacy policy controls its handling of data. The service does not control the security, retention, pricing, or availability of those destinations.

Advertising partners may measure activity across different sites on their own systems. Their collection and opt-out choices are described in their notices.

Who May Receive Data

Personal information is not sold as a standalone list by this service. It may be available to the following parties when needed for the stated function or required by law:

  • search partners that process a submitted query;
  • analytics providers that measure page use;
  • advertising networks and their service vendors;
  • hosting, security, email, and technical providers;
  • law-enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid legal order.

Security Limits

Reasonable technical and organizational steps are used to protect information held by the service. No internet-connected system is completely secure, and no promise can be made that data will never be accessed, lost, or altered. Do not send sensitive information through an ordinary contact message unless the receiving office specifically requests it through a secure channel.

Visitors Under 18

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, a parent or guardian may use the Contact Us route to ask that it be removed, subject to records that must be kept for legal or security reasons.

Your Information Choices

Subject to applicable law and practical limits, a person may ask what personal information is held, request a copy, point out an error, ask for deletion, or object to a particular use. A request should identify the information and the email or address used to send it. Identity may need to be verified before a response is provided.

  • request access to information held about the requester;
  • ask that inaccurate contact information be corrected;
  • request deletion where no retention duty applies;
  • ask about opting out of certain analytics or advertising processing.

These choices do not control records held by SCSO, a city police department, a court, GDC, a federal locator, or a news publisher. Contact those custodians directly for their records.

Changes to This Notice

Privacy practices can change when technology, partners, or legal requirements change. A revised version will be posted on this page, and the updated text will apply from its posting unless a different effective date is stated. Continued use after an update means the revised practices are accepted.
